Quartz Problems

Recommended Posts

Bought this watch a while back from Amazon. Hardly ever worn it and battery died. Replaced battery twice, but watch is still dead. Any ideas? Is it worth replacing the movement? If so how do I identify the movement?

Big question: If I wanted to try an automatic swap is it even possible? 89a67a80e50df2f0c036043ba7e956ba.jpg1769d7407563cdc6ec7b485243cfe33e.jpg

A swap to an automatic movement while not completely impossible would be extremely problematic and likely cost several times the watches value.

- Firstly you would need to find a movement that fits (would need to be thin and have the stem  at the right height).
- The dial feet would need to be in the right place (or chopped off and replaced or dial dots used to stick to the movement) to fit the dial to the movement.
- The hands would need to be broached to fit the new movement (or a new, appropriately sized set sourced).
- Also the datewheel would need to be in the same place as the Quartz movement for the number to fit the date window of the dial.

In short, an absolute ball ache and no one in their right mind would take it on tbh…

if you want an auto, best off buying a new watch :)
