Mobius Klein 3 Posted August 9, 2022 Attention - owners of high end reps of either of these. I love both of these watches but cannot decide and for me (looks wise) there is nothing in it. I am more concerned about the long term reliability of the movement. I know the best Daytonas have the 4130 movement but have no idea about the Omega. FudgyDocker 3,501 Posted August 9, 2022 There really isn't a fantastic rep of the Moonwatch, to be honest, as there are a multitude of flaws in all of them. But it is what it is. But the ST19 hand-wind movements in them are very strong and reliable, though. The top-end Daytonas are a hell of a lot more accurate, but they're £700. deju 1,875 Posted August 9, 2022 If you care about 1:1 then Speedmaster is a no go Reliability also comes down to user and the usage. Chinese movements aren't crap like they used to be. I will point out specifically because the Daytona is like a $700 replica. If reliability is important then for the love of god just buy a Steinhart. These are hobby watches, they can last a lifetime, they can crap out. They are built for a 10th of the cost of the real one. Reps are priced so that most will just buy a new one if it craps out. The rep Fora are a small segment of the rep buying market, so while we may fix and covet these things. Take them for what they are. If you can enjoy them and throw it away / pay to fix it after great. If you have to analyse a purchase for long term reliability (past the obvious not buying a time bomb movement) don't. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
