What is reasonable amount of time for TD to repair returned watch?

Hi All!

Question;

What is reasonable amount of time for TD to repair returned watch?

I returned my malfunctioning watch July 14th, per instructions registered airmail, $37.

It was received Sept. 17th (China post COVID issues caused delay)

I checked with TD on OCT 17th, still at factory...

I checked again today.....

This seems like a long time, but I know that patience is part of the game...

Does this sound normal?

I'm sure people are thinking it, so I'll say it - you shouldn't have sent it back to China for repair!

All I've heard is horror stories and long wait times... I take it you didn't have a watch smith near you to fix it?

Anyway sorry I can't be much input, but from what I've heard you could still be in early days...

6 months would be good. PC has taken over 18 months, but it was actually done.

Yeah, I was going to say I've read about people who've waited a year.  Never send a watch back to China...

I heard that returned watch for repair goes up the chain of supply: something like TD to wholesaler then to factory. And once the repair is done it goes to the same channel again. Plus returned watch is not a priority. Not to mention it has to endure the overseas shipping back to buyer which caused the damage in the first place.

Hi all! Just an update for those curious...

I returned my malfunctioning watch July 14th, per instructions registered airmail, $37.

It was received Sept. 17th (China post COVID issues caused delay)

I was notified by TD it is repaired and has been sent Dec. 1, 2022

Appears that it will be in my mail today Dec. 9th....

Hoping to wear it tonight and that it arrives in good condition!

You tend to find a lot of people on the forums say, "NEVER SEND A WATCH BACK TO CHINA!!!!" Often I notice that those people have never sent a watch back to China.

Back from China! Looking and running good so far (2 hrs)

Indeed, I trusted the dealer when he told me to send it back to him rather than try to replace the 2892 movement.

I had used this TD before many times, or I would never had sent it back.
