3jtWTR.jpgAs a complete non-tinkerer with no tools and no acumen … is this fixable by a duffer ?

I have already ordered a a replacement GMT but I still have an attachment to this one - is it fixable by a bloke with nine thumbs ?
it runs fine but the crystal is stuffed

In short… no I’m afraid. You would need a press and other bits and bobs. Also, not going to be easy to source an accurate replacement crystal. You may find something that fits from cousins or another materials house, but it’s not going to look like the original. Although a TD may be able to sort you out.

Actually, quick look on AliExpress and I found one that might suit. Can’t post a link but search this

“double dome sapphire for Tudor black bay series watches”

Changing the crystal isn't so bad. Even I've managed it. The bit that is a gamble is the need to remove the stem, decamp the internals, replace the stem while you fix the crystal, and then do the reverse - all without fucking up the keyless, or not being able to reinsert them stem. and leaving yourself without an operational watch! I've managed it twice and fucked it up twice.

Yup, I'd fit in the numpty category.

Don't even think about it. Get an all time lege like Rolie to sort it in 5 minutes flat - assuming he's available.

I'd suggest Rolie as well.  Its a 15 minute job, but you could really make things worse.

Thanks guys - appreciated

Rolie is the busiest man in the world just now - he is working more hours than Volodymyr Zelenskyy atm but I will prevail upon his good nature and mateship once again

He wouldn't need A Bentley.   Looking at it will crack the crystal.

If the replacement crystal (https://www.aliexpress.com/i/1005002298849993.html) is the same dimension, the job isn't particularly hard, but you'd need tools and being handy with watches...

Why not using a watch repair service from the RWG Trusted List?
