Blancpain X Swatch out on 9/9/2023 ?

The ad in a German newspaper (here taken from their e-paper) is similar to the ads that appeared before the Moonswatch release. 

 

The use of the crown in the Moonswatch drop led me to the conclusion that it must be the crown of some iconic watch and among the watches and brands of the Swatch Group there are only few that match a luxury divers watch, like the Omega Seamaster or the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms.

 

Based on the crown design, I expect a drop of the Fifty Fathoms from Swatch similar to the Moonswatch.

 It makes perfect sense with the ad and the 70th anniversary of the watch. Blancpain is owned by the Swatch Group and could need a revitalizing popularity boost. 

 

What do you guys think ?

Nice theorising! You could well be right. All I know for sure is that Rich will ignore the fact that it will be a fugly monstrosity and will buy it in every colour thinking he's down with the kids.

Played out with the moon swatch, they are already having to drop silly limited editions to keep hype. 

Disappointing they are turning into a one trick pony. 

The whole street fashion colab vibe of A ‘x’ B is dead now being flogged by corporate companies just mixing brands they own.

Boring, not innovative or exciting.

And, i , being a Blancpain lover and aficionado....i'm wondering: Blancpain have ALWAYS stated that, since 1775, there  will NEVER be  a Quartz Blancpain

 

Now, technically this is still true, sicne this 'thing ' will be a Swatch...anyway....it can be an Automatic aswell !

I think they are fun.  I don't get too serious about trinkets for the wrist.  Whether you pay $20 or $20K its just a toy.  If I like it I buy it.

Not quite. The yellow Peli on display is about 3 or 4 times as big as a BPFF case so it probably has multiple watches/ options as per the the Omega collaboration

I owned one (GEN, now sold)....and the Peli Case was pretty big....3-4  times as big is ENORMOUS
