beardedmanchild 0 Posted January 25 Hello everyone. I realize that people like me are a nightmare for regulars and frequent posters / experts in this field. It's embarrassing to have to post this, but I need advice or help. "You're my only hope."Please see image below for reference. This is a replica 2020 Rolex Submariner 126610LN 41mm. XF/VSF, VS 3235 movement.Currently, I can only assume something is wrong with the stem or one of its components, because while it’s still possible to adjust the date, I cannot get the stem to click into any other position to allow me to set the time. On top of that, the watch is no longer operational. I’d love someone to take a look at it; despite being a replica, as you know, these pieces are not cheap. Here is a picture of the watch as promised: https://clickpix.org/image/PastedGraphic-1.KDYjlJ Not sure if I can get this repaired for less than $400 (quoted to me by Ohio Watch Repair,) or whether I should just sell it at a loss for parts--and if I do that, where would I even begin? Thank you all in advance for your kindness and help.
Devil 2,905 Posted January 25 $400 seems really high... not sure about watch repairs in the US, but I think there's a watchmaker on forum in the US If it's unfixable would be smarter to sell for parts/buy a new one as they're like $400-500 to start with. NCRich 13,751 Posted January 25 I've not worked on that particular watch but you can get a replacement movement for that apparently for $120? $400 seems awfully high since it takes no time to switch over the dial and hands. More likely you need a keyless reset, which shouldn't cost much. I'd ask Katt, who is a trusted repair person in the US. He is on the list. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804698261008.html?src=google&src=google&albch=shopping&acnt=708-803-3821&slnk=&plac=&mtctp=&albbt=Google_7_shopping&albagn=888888&isSmbAutoCall=false&needSmbHouyi=false&albcp=20155878697&albag=&trgt=&crea=en3256804698261008&netw=x&device=c&albpg=&albpd=en3256804698261008&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAh8OtBhCQARIsAIkWb6_QsYFYVlWPRgrC8autuvu5s-xXdP4ceHY9gwWXLH_MZx0OxnTlTMkaApRqEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds&aff_fcid=66f2d59f638947e8ae044d7c6469c4e2-1706146748203-04888-UneMJZVf&aff_fsk=UneMJZVf&aff_platform=aaf&sk=UneMJZVf&aff_trace_key=66f2d59f638947e8ae044d7c6469c4e2-1706146748203-04888-UneMJZVf&terminal_id=9891a3b81f2d4176b6ed03431fac0523&afSmartRedirect=y&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa

fatarms 7,777 Posted January 25 I'm guessing keyless works are messed up. I wonder if the Ohio Watch Repair guys think it might be a genuine 126610 for that price? Stupid Ohioans... I live in CLE. I'm allowed to say that.

Redfire1066 10,949 Posted January 25 Have you previously removed the stem? If so, did you remove/reinsert it in the correct position? Worth checking this; could be an easy fix.

FudgyDocker 3,500 Posted January 25 Oascom (US based) is a relatively new repairer on our forum and looks to have pretty good knowledge. May be worth asking him?https://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?/forum/377-oascom-watch-service-center/

I'm learning, but I'm not confident enough to put my hands on this $500+ item and risk making it worse. This Katt person may be the way to go. Thanks everyone for the hospitality and great suggestions!
