Omega Seamaster 300m movement swap

Recommended Posts

Hey there modders

After a few months of exceptional timekeeping, +5s per day, my VSF Seamaster 300m V2 has started losing +2/3 minutes per day.

This may be a simple issue as it has not been serviced since purchase... or perhaps a sign of worse things to come.

I was considering swapping out the movement for a high end (Top Grade) eta 2824 e.g below which costs approx. $300

Would  this work? The case back on the 300m is clear so would like to keep all the extra decorative bits if it were possible to  somehow meld the two.

If anyone had done this before it would be very helpful to know which model to go for so that all the measurements are correct. There seem to be a variety of options on ebay and Startime etc. Cheers in advance for any thoughts/advice!

Have you tried de-magnetising it?

One of mine did something similar and when I demagnetised it, it went a lot better.

Thanks Lexidium, I’ll definitely give that a go! Perhaps I should have bought a Milgauss instead… ;)
