Calatrava with Officer's Caseback...this is CLASS !!!  :D

The 5227R is for me the best looking Calatrava , on par with the 5120 J.

And that Officer's Caseback feature is a must, the only dress watch to hacve such a lovely feature

The new Calatravas are ugly, rapper's watch. This 5227 is pure CLASS !

Wat ś the occasion? If it would be on a par with the watch, it must be something exquisite...

5053 is one of the most beautiful classic watch in my opinion!

I love the case shape with the long lugs shape with the gold screw!

Would it be possible to engrave a rep officer case back or would the plating be too thin and need redoing?

Plating would only be a few microns on these.  Not a problem with the original solid gold version, but on a rep the plating is probably around 5 microns and typical engraving would be 0.2 to 0.5mm depth.

So the engraving depth would be up to 100times the depth of the plating. And would show through the base metal.
