When reps collide! Can someone explain this to me?

Really, the seedy underbelly of the rep factories and their products confounds me every day...

Compare these two reps and their associated product descriptions and tell me, who exactly is right? Are these the same reps? They look identical, but the descriptions vary and the photos are clearly different... Differences in the descriptions are in bold.

From TimeShop, a trusted dealer here:

http://www.timesshop.net/10937-co9660-coru...0-28800bph.html

  • MOVEMENT: Asian 7750 Valjoux Working Chronograph movement, 28800bph
  • CASE DIAMETER: 44mm
  • THICKNESS: 14.5mm
  • CASE MATERIAL: Solid Stainless Steel 316L, Swiss Grade Black DLC Coating (Swiss Antiprint Quality)

From PureTimeWatch, a trusted dealer elsewhere:

http://puretimewatch.com/product/admirals-...-dial-11-a7753/

Corum-2011-07-07-01_enl.jpg

  • Movement: Asian 7753 automatic chronograph movement at 28800vph and working regulator, date adjust pusher at 10 o'clock position
  • Size: 48mm x 17mm
  • Functions: hours, minutes, sub-seconds and date display; chronograph
  • Case: PVD plated 316L stainless steel

So what the hell? The TimesShop one has a date pusher at 10 o'clock (yet apparently is a 7750) and is claimed to be be DLC coating which is much higher quality than regular PVD. Yet the PureTimeWatch model claimed to be a 7753 but with regular PVD coating and also several millimeters larger in size.

What gives? Who is right?

Well, I don't literally mean right... I guess my question is more along the lines of the background of where these things get made and how several dealers have the same product shots but then other dealers have different shots, yet the products are the same...

It's fascinating to me.

I should add that TimesShop wants $410, while PureTimeWatch wants $378...

I know - I was just being weird.

Sometimes the dealers make honest mistakes, like any website seller. Other times they lie cause most of their buyers don't know the difference.

There's a 44mm and a 48mm version of this model...so I guess they're both right.

Is PureTimeWatch the same as PerfectClones (Josh) and YourTrustyTime (Andrew)?

Josh and Andrew both have a similar watch to TimesShow advertised with DLC coating... They are both $428 ($410 for TimesShop).

PureTimeWatch is $378...

Guess I'll be asking Mary soon enough. I love this watch!

The 48mm "Challenger" usually has locks on the chrono buttons... I doubt the one is truly a 48mm piece.

The main difference about the A7750 and A7753 is that the latter has a fix for the sunken datewheel, if you notice, it is not sunken on the A7753 version. As far as I know the A7753 was plague with reliability issues and was not used, I'm seeing a lot of new releases with the A7753, don't know if it's a V2 that's more reliable now.

No Puretime is another dealer- Angus is his name.

Sometimes there are more than 1 version of a rep by different factories, may explain things.
