Advice needed on fastening a crown stem

Recommended Posts

Kaiser

Hi guys,

A colleague of mine told me he had some problems with a cheapo rep he had bought for his son so I offered to take a look for him. One of the problems, a hand which had fallen off one of the subdials I managed to fix. The other problem, a stem which is not fastened properly i.e. it comes out compeletely when you pull on it, I haven't solved yet. I believe some screw should be tightened somewhere? No idea which one however.

Here's a crappy pic of the movement, I'd appreciate any advice!

A keyless reset... are you sure about this? I had the same problem with a 6497 movement some time ago and the solution was to simply slightly tighten a certain screw.

I'm not familiar with this movement however and am not sure which screw needs tightening, if at all, it is a question of tightening a screw.

From what I've seen, a keyless reset is slightly more work than I had in mind, is there no 'quick fix'? :hehehe:

Cheers

A 6497 WILL need just a tightening of the screw, BUT, if you look above young padawan, there is an auto mvmnt in thar! Thus, problemed keyless it is ;)
