My New Baby Arrived

Recommended Posts

g.man

When I first joined this place I'll admit I just didn't "get" Panerai watches at all. Just weren't my particular cup of Earl Grey. But damn you all if you haven't converted me to their elegant charms! Consequently, this beauty arrived today courtesy of a private sale from RWG member Luto. My first, but certainly not my last Pam (I actually have another model winging it's way to me from China as I type).

Remember me when I'm left a penniless drooling idiot with nothing but a drawer full of beautiful watches! :thumbsup2:

Anyway, some initial iPhone pics. Pam 243 modded by Vac - namely - no sunken datewheel, re-lume, waterproofing and movement service (The lume is fantastic btw), on a Kain Heritage Xiran-Sub-761B natural cracked black with ivory stitching and brushed buckle, leather strap...

Lume shot. Pulled my sleeve up indoors for about twenty seconds, then held in the shade for this pic. Properly charged it's fantastic

Fingers crossed it'll keep as good time as promised, because it's a beautiful piece imho.

regards

Nice... all it needs is the CG reworked and the bezel markers polished and flattened.

nice 243. I miss mine.

Please reduce the size of your pics ;)

Sorry, are they too big? They didn't strike me as any bigger than anything else I've seen posted here?

:thumbsup2:

gB.

Curious as to what the lug width on these for the strap? Is it still the common 24mm or larger 26mm?

That's is a NICE watch, congrats.

I have a question, you wrote; it hasn't got a sunken datewheel

Is every gen PAM sunken datewheel free or just this model?

I'm a noob concerning PAM's, got one, a 327.

No idea mate. This one has an A7750 movement that's apparently been modded, but I'm sure there are plenty of people much more in the know here than I am who'll be able to set you straight.

Cheers Del. I think it's a lovely piece. Seems to keep excellent time too.

@Houndoggie: That is very nice mate. I might have mine polished up like that at some point, but tbh I rather like the brushed finish on the bezel markers on mine. I have a colleague who wears the gen, so I'll have a look at his at the weekend and see what I think, but I'm actually really happy with the way mine looks (for now).

...Anyway, the postman's just been and I have another parcel to open. Stay tuned for another unboxing. :thumbsup2:

fingers crossed
