SuperOcean II 44mm

Recommended Posts

greg_r

Still a long way off (end of the year by the sounds of it), but it looks like the 44mm version of the SuperOcean II Abyss (the current rep is 42mm) is going to be repped. Might be a whole lot more interesting for some folks. I must confess that I much prefer the larger one - it looks less 'fussy' somehow.

Very good greg - I might buy the 44mm version in another colour! ;)

(At least it's some way off yet though....)

I like the dials on these, just the bezels are a bit of a let down IMO.

For some odd reason, the bezel bothers me less on the 44mm version than it does on the 42mm. Couldn't begin to tell you why, though

The bezel is actually really nice when you see it in person. Imho, of course!

It has a rubbery texture to it but I'd rather not start digging my thumbnail into it to check for sure!

It's certainly not just matt black paint.

I'm really not sold on the look of them... to me they just look a bit cheap. I'm sure they look better in person though

Nice watch, I just don't dig hour markers... kinda strange looking numbers. Everything else looks great, and 44mm will be on my list.

Del, this is yours ? If so, very nice. I'm quite sure I will be buying this watch, maybe wait for the 44mm...maybe.

Can you answer a couple of questions ?

* Honestly, is the watch too small ?

* I am confused as to the color. Is this the model with the blue inner bezel ?

I ask because on King's site the all black model appears to be a dark sea blue, inner bezel and face, while the colored bezel models appear to have a pure black face. The blue bezel model ( on the site ) looks to be a sharp electric blue, which I wouldn't like, while yours is a dark almost black blue which I like. Is the watch pictured here the blue bezel model ?

Many thanks, Robert

Edit: I saw your review. It's the blue bezel. Would you wait for the 44mm if you had to do it over ? I know I will be buying this watch. There's something about it.

Good pick up Wat - I would never have noticed - more than two years without posting - I would never have remembered my username or password that long

Maybe not a fail but an award for patience.

I know what this is about. The join number vs posts nr and the insanely interesting thread on the topic ;) Norman might not know this tho :(

Actually I think its one of the better first posts I've seen. Ha has also been a member here longer than both you and I.

Wat, Norman does indeed not know this, I think you need to PM him with an explanation mate, you have understandably upset him somewhat.
