Thinking about picking up this model from Robert...

What year would this watch be?

Wanting to give it some patina....What is the best route?

Someone mentioned removing the movement and taping the crystal, and putting watch in with smaller rocks and nails and giving it some good shaking...

Any tips guys?

Looks like 5512, if it's "gilt" dial.

That model does not exist really. It is a mix between a modern sub and a vintage, but not in a great way.. Ask for him to see if he has an 1680..

I figured that out a few minutes ago. But I still like the look of the Dial! So I'm going to keep it

Any tips on how to age it? This really will be my first build....

Im going to remove the crystal and movement and do some scuffing etc.

Bleach the bezel is the general consensus?

Any other tips/suggestions?

If you decide to age the dial make sure you cover the text with something as to not brown it.

I've heard of someone using yogurt but your better off asking around. I've even seen that people just use coffee staining on the indices.

Another way to get a vintage look is clear coat matte varnish and a sponge, gives it an old paint or sometimes bubbly look depending how you do it, I personally like my dial a bit more aged looking and with a bit of texture.
