ubiquitous 0 Posted July 26, 2009 Recently, I built a Tudor 9411 Snowflake for my good friend Lanikai- A watch that he had been looking to have built for a year since having seen my own personal project Sub. This project is pretty straightforward and a lot of fun. We started out with an older style MBW 5513 case; Zig had done a fantastic job of drilling lugs and shaping CG's- Two case mods that I don't enjoy doing, so I'm thankful that this one started off with a good basis in that dept. Movement of choice was the ETA 2783; the genuine uses an ETA 2784, and so this was a close match. The reasons for going with this movement are many, though the biggest is the fact that the movement is basically the gen equivalent. Can't beat that... Dial and hands- Dial was a NOS original that I had tucked away in the parts bin. I thought this was a great opportunity to roll this one out... Hands- NOS lumi replacements from RSC... Let's begin... Case it up... It would only be fitting to add a NOS insert as well... Add a NOS 125... And done... The nice crisp white markers, hands and pearl really make this one a jaw dropper... Thanks for looking! Ubi
trailboss99 996 Posted July 26, 2009 Oh now that is one sweet franken my man! Allways had a soft spot for a nice Tudor. Never took the common line of them being Rolex's poor cousin. One big advantage is that folk don't automaticly asume it's a rep. Great work mate, thanks very much for posting it. Hope to see some more of your work here. Great to have you back! Regards, Col. turnipz 0 Posted February 22, 2011 (edited) What about the caseback on this, you just keep the rolex one that came with it or is there a place to get reps of them from? Or maybe one of the other tudor reps would fit? Edited February 22, 2011 by turnipz
