Rolex GMT-Master II ref 16760 "fat lady"

Recommended Posts

solkryssare

I've been lusting for a GMT for a long time now. And the ref 16760 has always captured my interest. I knew it was thicker than the 1675, 16750 and the 16700 but I didn't know it was thicker than the more modern 16710. Well it is!

I love the thickness of my SD and a thin case GMT just wouldn't feel as substantial. Now I've learnt that its just as thick as a Sea Dweller but still holds the beauty of a true GMT. This is no on top of my list

What do you guys think? Should a GMT be thin or do you like me, love the fat lady?

I don't like fat chicks.

Why do you always have to be so different? ;)

Depends on how well she sings.... ;)

Seriously, though, I suspect I'd prefer the thicker case on the wrist...

Fat chicks are like small motorcycles they are fun to ride you just don't want your friends catching you. :D

Thin case all the way for a GMT!

Reason? It's not a diver!

What has that got to do with it? A thick watch doesn't necessarily equal it being a dive watch. Just look at the Fortis pilot watches. Thye are all thick as hell. And lovely might I add

Slim case for me too.. I actually think that's what I like about my 1675.

Thicker case Rolex always looks like a divers watch to me....The GMT just doesn't, mainly because of the thinner case.

I have reps of the GMT and the Sub. The overall thickness of the Sub is greater because the back cover has more bow to it.

The case itself less the back cover is slightly thicker with the GMT. I don't know about the gens.

Well... If you're going to be going through multiple timezones, you'll need a fat-bottomed girl to make this rockin' world go round!

RIP Freddy!

Thin for a dress watch, fat for a sporty watch.

So back to you - do you see the GMT as a sporty or dress style?

I personally prefer thick watches but I see the GMT as more dressy and thus I would prefer it thinner.

I definitely see it as a sports watch.
