Mr Q 0 Posted September 12, 2011 If the prancing stallion is ok for you! It isn't! Afraid the brand does not blow my skirt up at all.
Foodmaker 0 Posted September 12, 2011 If you have brand obsession issues, DON'T go anywhere near Panerai!! I am so liking this!
Member X 91 Posted September 12, 2011 The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshores and Hublot Big Bangs are extraordinary feats of marketing. ... the never ending color combinations cheapens the product line for me. This lowers them to the level of extremely overpriced fashion watches, almost like a Swatch... +1000000
Mr Q 0 Posted September 12, 2011 How about a Differnt Tag (what have you currently got?) Sorry - missed the question: My Tag is an Aquaracer Quartz. I completely understand the marketing connection between Tag and McLaren but that's completely irrelevant to me. The F1 connection is also irrelevant to my taste in watches. I like watches I like regardless of their brand associations*. *that's not completely true - I like Audis and I own an Audi branded watch (pretty much a Swatch in terms of its significance) - explicitly because of the brand association! It's still in its box from eight years ago - an inpulse purchase at the Audi factory gift shop in Ingolstadt.

opus9 0 Posted September 12, 2011 If the prancing stallion is ok for you! It isn't! Afraid the brand does not blow my skirt up at all. Any one wearing a Ferrari watch needs psychological help..it represents a team of cheats, moaners and spoilt rich children, who stamp their feet every time a racing decision goes the wrong way!! The only excuse to wear a Ferrari watch is if you work on the Ferrari team..and they all wanna work for Mclaren anyway.... Jensen..he be de man..oh and Lewis the number two driver..... Mr Q 0 Posted September 12, 2011 how about Omega then? from sporty to classy to bond... 'ang on! I'm still processing the possibility of an AP ROO - the Ginza7 being closest to what I'm after except for the gold and the 'diamonds' in the '7'. Thank you for encouraging me off the edge of this slippery slope.

Mr Q 0 Posted September 12, 2011 I used to think hmm panerai. Now I long to wear one of my two panerai's ! Nop - still not doing anything for me - though the lume looks good. You been subjecting your watch to 5kw of xenon light before that photo was taken - or maybe it was a dark room and a loooong exposure.
Mr Q 0 Posted September 12, 2011 "hublot"....sound of a Frenchman puking B) I'm becoming quite immune to criticism of my abysmal lack of aesthetic appreciation.

Dendo 93 Posted September 12, 2011 Hublots, APs, Panerai. All a matter of taste IMO. I like all of them but I agree with the general comments also. That Hublots and the octagonal faced APs are more like fashion watches. APs are more classy though. Panerai are classic Italian styling but tend to be very repetitive. This thread is an interesting discussion but for me it is whatever you get obsessed with. Welcome and enjoy!
