gottahaverolex 0 Posted September 13, 2011 I believe the EL is the best out there. Snag it if you can, they just don't exist anymore! I'd like to see it if you can post the link please?! Never saw one before.

houndoggie 58 Posted September 14, 2011 You will kick yourself when the new ones come out. Can you share? They are being worked on...just a matter of time. Every new Pam rep lately has been a home run.

wolfwood 4 Posted September 14, 2011 How's the ultimate version being offered on Robert's auction? The lite version is very tempting.
prestigewatchco 2 Posted September 14, 2011 Nothing special about an EL fiddy they were the standard spec at the time. Front loading cases are a PITA compared to rear loading cases and have a cut out on the bezel I think the one Greg has is actually an EL case as they call them Certainly not worth the premium they charge for them they were nothing special when they were available
greg_r 83 Posted September 14, 2011 wolfwood: the one on Robert's auction is probably as good as anything available at the moment. If you're desperate for a 127, then go for it. Personally, however, I'd take houndoggie's advice and hold on a bit longer... As far as the EL goes, it was the best available in its day, but I'd go along with Robert on this one - it's not quite as good as the reputation suggests. If I were to buy that I'd need to have it re-lumed AND replace the movement (due to the lack of swan neck regulator). Frankly I think the one I have (which was the last of Robert's top of the line Swiss movement Fiddys - a version only available from him) is more than a match for the EL currently on sale elsewhere.
