Balad1 0 Posted September 15, 2011 COLT The same spirit but a new look. Breitling has entirely redesigned its Colt model, a symbol of sturdiness, reliability and performance. A sculptural model carved in steel, the new Colt turns heads with its original styling clearly built for action, achievements and thrills. With its solid construction and its water resistance to 300 meters (1,000 ft) or 500 meters (1,650 ft), it establishes itself as an exceptionally sporty model, a champion and natural frontrunner. Its originality begins with the bezel featuring a taut, sophisticated shape and stamped numerals, and continues with the case echoing the same outline. The dials are adorned with new rounded numerals exclusively designed for this model, with rhythmical motifs and with a play on colors. The steel bracelet reinforces the unique character of this fresh, youthful and dynamic design, while ensuring optimal comfort and sturdiness. Available in three versions endowed with strong and distinctive characters, including a chronograph and a ladies’ watch, the new Colt is equipped with SuperQuartz™ movements that are chronometer-certified by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute), like all Breitling movements. (2 of the gens are 44mm and 1 is 33mm) Link: http://www.breitling.com/en/models/colt/index.php

Balad1 0 Posted September 15, 2011 meh. I agree, especially for a suggested retail price of $2,600, from what I can find.

powderfreak 0 Posted September 15, 2011 meh. I agree, especially for a suggested retail price of $2,600, from what I can find. Quite steep imho... but hey, quartz means it will be easy to rep (and it's not so ugly )
Del 4,461 Posted September 15, 2011 I quite like that! Anyone surprised?

Cynikal.Mindset 1 Posted September 15, 2011 Finally a Colt that doesn't look like a cheap Wal-Mart watch...I hope they make an accurate rep of this
pamelo 0 Posted September 15, 2011 Quartz movements don't hold up in value like the swiss autos. Looks like they've streamlined the bezel--doesn't look like a Colt. I have an older colt auto, a gen with a swiss 2824 movt I'm wearing right now. What i like the most about it is the high nickel SS case and band, which gives it a silver look. amuthon 0 Posted September 15, 2011 Nothing wrong with the watch, don't know what others have to complain. Would buy thousands of them, before one Hublot...

amuthon 0 Posted September 15, 2011 I know, it's legit to discuss hours and days about gen inserts, crowns and spring bars, to sand cg and drill lugholes, buy riveted bracelets or not and... But only for the most boring watch brand ever. I'm not "the" Breitling-fan, but this design looks at least, like someone tried to create something. Others change the size of their watches or put out Yacht-Master II...
NFleischer 4,355 Posted September 16, 2011 I think I prefer the new one from last year- Colt + (GMT in this case). The price of gens is really insane lately. I was just looking at Rolex yesterday. The TT Subs are now $12K, SS were not in stock, flying out @ $8K. The green ceramics are like Daytona's- can't get them. The AD said," You'd get a date with Cameron Diaz before you can buy a green Sub".Also in the past, AD's like Torneau would give very good trade in allowance if you traded up. I bought a bunch that way over the years. Now- 35% on the dollar. I wonder how long they'll keep that policy, certainly lost me now after 20 years.
pamelo 0 Posted September 16, 2011 Interesting how the value of the Euro--and maybe gold--has really escalated the price of Swiss watches in the US. In a way, it makes the Chinese reps better buys, since those watches haven't gone up much in price. The RMB is holding value vs the dollar better, though it has increased somewhat lately. You get a nice rep with a Swiss eta movt, it's good value. It might even increase in resale value in the future if rep prices go up, or Swiss movts become scarce. sfa437 0 Posted September 16, 2011 My kid wears an older model Colt GMT and it is a smart looking watch. Quite a difference between it and the new model but I am liking this one as well. MUCH better execution IMO than the SuperOcean Abyss. That one is just fucking hideous!
Balad1 0 Posted September 16, 2011 I can't see paying $3-4K for a quartz watch when I can buy an Oris gen with SW200 swiss automatic movement for around $1K Example: Oris 44mm diver date $1035.00 US Link: http://www.friendsoforis.com/store/ORIS-Wa...atest-Specials/
