greg_r 83 Posted November 30, 2008 Having taken a real liking to larger watches over the last year, I figured it was time to buy an AP - especially as I had a use for something with chrono functions. The only problem was the 7750. I remain suspicious about this movement - and anyhow I really didn't feel like spending the kind of money that an AP with secs@12 fetches (frankly, I'd rather put that money towards a gen, or maybe an antique book), so I started to think about quartz. Now, I don't really like quartz watches - I never have. However, it's a cheap way of getting something with chronos - and I figured that the quartz 'tick' wouldn't be so noticeable on the running seconds subdial, so I decided to go see what I could find. Being that it's quartz, all the functions work as they should, although the secs subdial is @6 rather than 12, but at this price, who cares... The dial and case are particularly nice for such a cheap watch. The watch itself is nice and heavy - there ain't nuthin' flimsy about this thing. Dependent on who you ask, an AP ROO is supposed to be around 44m. It certainly wears big for 44, though - largely due to the unusual shape. It's very comfortable, however, and came with a fairly decent leather croc-print strap. I quite like the look of this watch, so although it doesn't get that much wrist time, I do still wear it every now and again when I feel like something a little 'different'. I'd like to get a better one (i.e. not quartz) at some point in the future, but for now it serves the purpose.

alphakazi 0 Posted January 22, 2009 I love that watch greg - always wanted one but the $500+ price tag put me off $88 sounds a bit easier to check it out

alphakazi 0 Posted January 22, 2009 I couldn't stand quartz but you showed me that quartz watches need love too - I have a quartz Avenger Hurcules Titanium that gets compliments - it's finding it's way back on my wrist as of late
