Member X 91 Posted August 6, 2009 Well, seeing as fate has meant that I've had two watches turn up in two days, with another due early next week if estimated shipping times are to be believed LoL, the missus has said "I want a watch for my birthday!" :( Sooooooo... She says she wants a small watch. She's not really big into labels but I'm thinking that if there's a good rep for a reasonable price then I might go for it. Low price is a good thing at the moment but I might perhaps be able to stretch to around £100 or so. First thoughts after a trawl of PT (simply because he has a large choice on the website!) are these two: http://www.jpc8118.com/cart10017-tank-amer...rtz-p-2300.html http://www.jpc8118.com/gu10016-ladies-coll...iss-p-3124.html I think she'd prefer the second one because it's smaller but I'm not overly impressed with the details in the zoomed in pics... Is that manky brown glue I see holding the crystal in?!? Anyway, if anyone else has any suggestions, I'd gratefully receive them! lol Ta muchly, kind sirs
greg_r 81 Posted August 6, 2009 Of the two I'd go for the Cartier, but that's just personal taste. Have a hunt around and email one or two of our recommended dealers - I suspect you'll find it cheaper.
alphakazi 0 Posted August 6, 2009 I'll second the Cartier - nice dress watch - LV is also nice for casual wear
pollux1 3 Posted August 6, 2009 Get a Rolex explorer 1, they look great on women. ETA if possible or indeed take the franken route. You can get a gen case from the bay, gen dial and hands, ETA 2836 and nice rep bracelet and voila!
Member X 91 Posted August 6, 2009 (edited) I'd love to - but a) I can't afford it, and b ) I'd have to keep it for myself once I'd built it LoL :( Thanks for the recommendations so far - I may have to drag her into a shop that sells various brands to see what she likes! AllergyDoc 40 Posted August 6, 2009 Lawrence has those funky Gucci watches for dirt cheap: http://www.houseofsouvenirs.com/gucciwatches.htm My wife has a TAG Link and it looks great: http://www.houseofsouvenirs.com/tagheuerlinkladies.htm

sconehead 5 Posted August 6, 2009 I bought my missus this Omega last crimbo, very dainty, and this one is in transit, Both are under $100, personally I use Robert (PWC) all the time now, no shit, straight talking, great service and cheaper than most... alphakazi 0 Posted August 6, 2009 that Constellation is very nice Scone. My gf would love it. how's the build quality?

I'm starting to think the same way Sconey, next big rep purchase will be through Robert.
houndoggie 58 Posted August 7, 2009 My wife has the J12 rep in 33mm quartz. Very nice piece: Once my sister saw it, she wanted one, so I got her one. Then my mother saw hers and I got her on.
Member X 91 Posted August 7, 2009 They are quite nice though I'm aware that white watches are very 'in' at the moment and may well be 'out' again soon! lol I will think on things further... Cheers for the suggestions all! :ninja:
sconehead 5 Posted August 7, 2009 that Constellation is very nice Scone. My gf would love it. how's the build quality? Pretty good for the price, under lights it really sparkles, it's quartz as well, so no problems on the movement front. Only thing is the bracelet is really small, anything over 7'' wrist would probably need an extra link or two...
Member X 91 Posted August 11, 2009 Ok, has anyone any experience of the Rado reps? I'm thinking she might like ceramic as she has allergy issues to cheap metals lol and the ladies ones are quite nice. Either that or perhaps one of the small omegas. I also saw a tiny Rolex YM in the window of a shop the other day, like under 20mm by the looks of it! Have they repped these??

houndoggie 58 Posted August 11, 2009 how much was that? from Sead? From sead.. $150ish.. I dunno because I bought 3 of them, maybe I got a little discount.
P_Diddy 0 Posted August 11, 2009 I got the Explorer I from Josh for the missus, nice watch for $108 the only picky flaw was the numeral 3 was not identical to gen and the Rolex stamp on the clasp is not brilliant.. Personally I would go for the Green Milgauss from Robert for $99 + shipping, outstanding watch and you can wear it when she is wearing something else I'd love to - but a) I can't afford it, and b ) I'd have to keep it for myself once I'd built it LoL Thanks for the recommendations so far - I may have to drag her into a shop that sells various brands to see what she likes! Member X 91 Posted August 11, 2009 (edited) Thanks for the recommendations all I've been looking up threads and checking links and there seems to be a bit of choice but accuracy to gen isn't all that great... The Tag Carreras look nice but I'm steering away from diamonds as replica ones never look right lol (Hence I'm not keen on the Rolex Pearlmaster: http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/96011-review..._fromsearch__1) The Tag Links look ok but are apparently rubbish bezel-wise: http://www.jpc8118.com/heuer-link-ladies-c-117_184.html Omega Constellations have also been praised on .cc but I'm not sure about them... http://www.jpc8118.com/omega-constellation-c-58_60.html are hideous lol and on the watcheden versions I'm thinking the dial isn't that great: http://www.watcheden.com/omega-constellati...-19111-p-1.html I'm loving the YM at the moment so may drop narikaa a line to see if he can get the tiny version. It seems that they aren't great on the date font though? http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/101032-ladie...__fromsearch__1 Or I may see if she'd wear the bigger version. The noobfactory version got a good review here but I'm not sure if it's still current, although someone's posted to say it only cost £60 from narikaa! That suits my budget just fine! http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/52401-noob-y...__fromsearch__1 http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/99890-my-nar...__fromsearch__1 I'm guessing the scond hand sweep would be wrong at that price though? (I'm guessing it's the same as this one? http://www.tt88time.com/index.php?main_pag...oducts_id=1711) Perfect Clones has a white and rolesium dial bigger versions(?) for more money but with swiss ETA (apparently): http://www.jpc8118.com/rlyls10002-white-di...712-p-1184.html http://www.jpc8118.com/rlyls10001-rolesium...6712-p-422.html Or, Rogerthat says his missus has a white DJ that she's not so keen on now so I might see if I can drop him a PM about it: http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/93333-wifeys...__fromsearch__1 Apparently Josh will build a custom one if you ask him nicely... http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/93756-best-l...__fromsearch__1 (Scroll down a bit) Watcheden has loads! but they're all more than I can spend :( http://www.watcheden.com/advanced_filter.p...m=40&page=1 Ho hum... too much to take in, as always! :( Edited August 11, 2009 by Member X
Member X 91 Posted August 12, 2009 (edited) Result! After a surf with her last night, she said she likes this Aqua Terra: http://www.jpc8118.com/omse10020-ladies-aq...atic-p-846.html $88? I think she'll be getting that one LoL Edited August 12, 2009 by Member X
