Haralambos 0 Posted October 7, 2011 Hi All, I am new to the RWG Forum. I want to build a PAM Luminor Marina (PAM 118 / 177). I would like to do so using a Swiss movement. Any recommendations on which to use and where to get a good quality Swiss movement for this model? For anyone that has built their own.... any general tips or tricks to share? Thanks in advance!!! Cynikal.Mindset 1 Posted October 7, 2011 for the price of a 177 rep its pretty much not even worth building your own...its a better deal probably to buy a 177m and then swap in a swiss movement if that's what you really want.
greg_r 83 Posted October 7, 2011 Just bear in mind that the high-end Asian clone 6497s are just as reliable as the swiss version and will actually look closer to the gen. At this point, there's not really a lot of point in building your own unless it's vintage or a model not repped.
