dude, that is one of the 3 colors of "lock-tite", all of which made by PERMA-TEX. purple, blue, and red (in order of strength)

PERMA_TEX makes "Lock-Tite", i know cause i SELL IT!!!!!!

We use the red and blue in the machine shop. The industrial stuff is called "lock nuts" though. Loctite, the genuine article, is made by loctite corp, tho Mike (got the bottle in my hand right now. :P ). But, you did put "lock-tite" in quotes. (and added a hyphen). ;)

anyway - if members want an alternative to Loctite, you might like to try its competitor, Permatex

 

In Australia, the latter is cheaper than the former
