Equalizer Wristwatch

take_it_to_the_next_level_watch_1.gif

The display pushes up the top row of lights and they float back down in a real equalizer effect, finally all the lights fall down off the face of the watch to leave only two lights to indicate the time for 5 seconds, then the two lights also trail off.

Our animation above is just a guide to the light up effect, in real life its a lot more impressive.

The watch uses very little power for the amount of lights and is far more efficient than traditional LED watches. Note this is not an LED watch. It is an Advanced LCD using only 1 LED to light the entire watch using new technology. This is why the power consumption is low.

Binary Wristwatch

numeri-color_time_wear_watch_1.gif

For an LED watch it's not short on features either. It has time with AM & PM modes, Month, date and day-of-the-week. Plus an auto light up function every 15 mins between 6PM & Midnight (Which can be activated/deactivated as required)

There are a range of suitably Sci-fi light patterns using the 3 LED colors.

Telling the time uses the colored LED's to represent hours & minutes.

By looking at the 4 rows of lights, the Green & Red LED's at the top indicate the hour simply by counting them. 3 red = 3 o'clock.

The Bottom rows of green & yellow LED's indicate the minutes. 2 Green + 7 yellow = 27 minutes past.

It's the same for the date mode to indicate month & date. The day is shown on the very top row of holes where the markings M, T, W show the day (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday etc).

The Worlds Smallest LED Wristwatch

the_worlds_smallest_wristwatch_1.gif

At only 8mm thin and 40 grams, the Retsu is just 1/3 of the weight of most other LED watches.

The Vertical display runs in line with the edge of the strap forming a smooth transition from one end to the other.

Amazingly simple to read, the lights race up to the digit then trail off leaving one light reconfirming the number. This is repeated for each digit to tell the time. So straight forward it's surprising no one has ever thought of it before.

Will these be repped soon?

I'd buy all three of those. Very different. The last one is a classic. Are any of the gens still available?

A few more new, and I think totally crazy watches:

The Horological Machine No3 (HM3) Sidewinder

Roger-Dubuis-Saw-tourbillon.jpg

The new Roger Dubuis Easy Diver SED tourbillon features a very open skeleton dial, that allows you to literally see right thru the Caliber RD 02 SQ3 movement. The hand-wound, in-house movement features a flying tourbillon, which rotates once per minute, visible at 7 o'clock. The 48 mm case is water-resistant to an impressive 300 meters and the power reserve lasts 60-hours. The watch is available in titanium for $124,600.

Alpha: The last one, seriously? The adding machine I've seen. It's rather cool. What's the first one? It has a kinda Lost In Space retro sci-fi feel I like.
