HWG 11 Posted November 3, 2011 So, I want an Ebel in my collection. I am trying to decide between the 1911 BTR with yellow hands, and the 1911 Discovery Black dial. Both would be on SS bracelet. I love the black and yellow on the BTR dial, but I also really like the day-date on the Discovery. Which would you choose? Price is so close, its not a factor. Thanks gents! NFleischer 4,355 Posted November 3, 2011 I think the white/black Panda dial is the best of those reps.
SteveA 309 Posted November 3, 2011 Discovery black dial no competition
gB. 0 Posted November 3, 2011 1911 Discovery all the way. ^^^Neil has the gen of this, which you can pick up for new at barely more than $1k in the grey market.
HWG 11 Posted November 3, 2011 Nice watch Luth, but I cant do two tone... just not my thing.
gB. 0 Posted November 4, 2011 This one: Way to steal my pic Luth. Full review of this (my) gen Ebel TT is HERE. It's not your usual TT watch, it's very subtle on the gold. You would love it if you saw it in the flesh. But back on topic, I would recommend the panda Ebel 1911 Discovery super rep produced earlier last year if you can find one. Great watch, and would fit a gen 7750 if you ever wanted to upgrade it.
Luthier 1 Posted November 4, 2011 Yep, stole it, probably in 2010. Still have it. Love the watch!!! Just curious - did you ever seen the replica of exactly this watch?

Hmm, a 1911 Discovery for a little more than $1K? Sounds like a bargain, any recommendations for grey market dealers?

NFleischer 4,355 Posted November 4, 2011 Did someone ring up Noel? Here's my SS gen Ebel I bought for $1200 last year @ Overstock.com I doubt you're going to see that price again soon. Maybe $1750 for the Panda version. BTW- I think the Panda is the better rep I see they still have the TT version a la GBOGH for $2265, not bad!

HWG 11 Posted November 4, 2011 ...you sure you don't like the Panda? The panda looks nice.... but I have a white dial AP, and Breitling. So the black really stands out to me. I might have to let my Pam 312 go to fund this one.... damn this hobby!!!
