Even though I understand that you might not like the feel of it, I think the one you have already looks great .

18 quid? That's a steal if you ask me.

How was your previous strap from them?

Very good - it's on my PAM 088. It was actually houndoggie that first pointed them out to me. Timepiece Republic, not Timeshop as I posted above.

All you need now is a watch from Primark to go with it..............

Thought you had more class Del, like putting retreads on a Ferrari...........

Wait a minute. So, while the watch is on the current rep strap (that many people have complimented me on) then it's ok but if I swap it onto another budget strap (but of higher quality) then it's suddenly not ok and I have no class?

So, how much do I need to spend on a strap before you deem it to be ok? $100? $150?

As I said above, my 088 is on a similar strap, and my 318 and 213 are both on Meyhofer straps that cost less than £25 each and I've not had anything other than good comments for those.

We don't all need to spend a fortune on straps y'know. ;)

Someone mentioned these croc straps in GHR's thread about his gens straps . They are very gen like for ~ $130...expensive but less then strap culture.

Yeah this guy does some virtually identical to the OEM ones, this is his latest post on Timezones http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=5947141&rid=0 Ive just ordered a Black gator Nubuck 27mm so will do a review when it comes, $200 total with buckle and shipping.

Ok folks. I decided that I wasn't spending a fortune on a genuine alligator strap so I just bought this one from Timeshop Republic on eBay. If it's as good as a previous one I bought from them then it's an absolute steal.

It ticks all the boxes - brown "croc", open stitching (even has the little cross stitching thing at the lug ends kind of like the gen strap - bonus!), comes with s/s tubes and cost me circa £18 with free shipping.

I'll post pics when it arrives from the good-ole US of A! :D

It'll look great Del but if you don't like the feel Timeshop will swap for any reason.

@Del: Although this is a bit late, I have great a good experience with Hirsch straps, I saw one from a UK website that looks similar to what you've been eyeing, and in a nice 4.5mm thickness to boot.

I hope the timepiecerepublic strap will not disappoint. :)
