jaras 0 Posted December 31, 2008 Hate to jump back on topic after nearly a month and six pages but what the hell. Having had about 30 sub reps over the year I alway thought they were all pretty similar. I wore a cheap LV for three years straight a few years back and was most pleased with it. Recently I picked up a BK LV from a member over at RG and I have been really surprised how the little mods make a big difference. The biggest thing I notice is the shaved bezel. I compared it to the Gen and realized that indeed the gen bezel is slightly recessed from the outer edge, as is BK's shaved bezel with expanded edge. ALL of my other sub reps bezel's have the insert meet right at the edge of the outer ring, making it "float". Yes, I compared my reps to the gens before and never noticed it, but now it is obvious. It is like the CG's, the shaved and reshaped to look like gen really are much closer, but until I had them, I would never have known it. So the deal is ... out of the box reps today are GREAT! No one but a rep collector, gen collector or AD is going to tell it from gen, the run of the mill guy with a gen sub on his wrist never seeks out that kind of detail. So if the goal is to have a decent rep or impress other people, any good rep sub will do. But if the goal is to impress yourself ... well then I now say BK, or one of the other modded to be closer reps is actually worth the expense. Oh sorry, I just realized I forgot what forum I am writing this in so therefore ... and Fuck Off!
