Engraving - Vintage Pam project

Recommended Posts

rosate13

Hi, I have recently acquired a 1940's Cortebert 616 movement for my vintage Pam project, the aim is to replicate as close to the original Rolie 618 movement as possible which will involve engraving the Rolie logo on the bridge, does anyone know of a sympathetic UK based engraver who may help?

Have a word with Nightwatch (PM or email him via his subforum here). He may well be able to point you in the right direction.

why not just leave the Cort intact? The shape of the bridges are different than the 618.

I never really understood engraving Rolex on the Cort just because it was the base for the 618 and, for example, leaving the Cort engraving on the ratchet wheel. Not to mention ignoring the finishing and the shape.

IMO engrave a Molnija, leave a Cort. The Cort. has value on it's own.

The name 'Muppet' comes to mind, I can't find how to upload a jpeg anywhere. I don't seem to be able to add to 'my media' and don't have a URL for the photo. Any tips for a Mac using newbie?

looks good to me just like that.

never going to look like this unless you change the bridges and the ratchet wheel.

yeah, rosate13, in the album on Photobucket, hover over the thumbnail and then click on the IMG code link. That cuts it, then paste it into your response.
