rosate13 0 Posted December 12, 2011 Hi, I have recently acquired a 1940's Cortebert 616 movement for my vintage Pam project, the aim is to replicate as close to the original Rolie 618 movement as possible which will involve engraving the Rolie logo on the bridge, does anyone know of a sympathetic UK based engraver who may help? greg_r 81 Posted December 12, 2011 Have a word with Nightwatch (PM or email him via his subforum here). He may well be able to point you in the right direction.

10:10 Watch Repair 1 Posted December 12, 2011 why not just leave the Cort intact? The shape of the bridges are different than the 618. I never really understood engraving Rolex on the Cort just because it was the base for the 618 and, for example, leaving the Cort engraving on the ratchet wheel. Not to mention ignoring the finishing and the shape.

10:10 Watch Repair 1 Posted December 12, 2011 Thanks for the advise, I am now wondering if it is the right thing to do... IMO engrave a Molnija, leave a Cort. The Cort. has value on it's own.
rosate13 0 Posted December 12, 2011 The name 'Muppet' comes to mind, I can't find how to upload a jpeg anywhere. I don't seem to be able to add to 'my media' and don't have a URL for the photo. Any tips for a Mac using newbie?

10:10 Watch Repair 1 Posted December 13, 2011 looks good to me just like that. never going to look like this unless you change the bridges and the ratchet wheel.

10:10 Watch Repair 1 Posted December 13, 2011 yeah, rosate13, in the album on Photobucket, hover over the thumbnail and then click on the IMG code link. That cuts it, then paste it into your response.
