"Home built" skeleton

Recommended Posts

Evening Guys,

So. I've had this skeletonized 6497 movement lying around. Originally bought it to practice disassembly, so it's been taken apart quite a few times, and never been used for it's proper purpose as is keeping time.

I'm actually quite happy with it. Might also have something to do with the fact that I "know" the movement so well.

One question for you guys; what color of strap would you choose? I'm leaning towards a genuine black croc strap.

Next step is to buy the swiss version of the movement, and mount that in the case - Hopefully sometime next month :-)

Some pics (should've cleaned the glass first of course):

Black strap is the way to go :thumbsup2:

How much hazzle would it be to add roman numerals around it?

I'm glad you think so! :-)

You know - I actually thought about that. I haven't found one that fits. You're thinking about something like this right?250px-Montre_squelette.jpg

It has to be a 37mm dial. Anyone knows where to look?

Yes, but I would love for the ring to be transparent, "only" showing the roman numerals in let's say "silver" or "gold"....... :P

Me thinks you could go all the way with a steel band. Could be a bit of a shocker! :stars:
