tommylad 0 Posted December 21, 2011 A friend is thinking of buying a U Boat for her boyfriend. They hold no appeal for me so I don't know if this is any good. It's from Reg, 21j and is £68. Is it accurate and good value? It's the U Boat in his dropbox. http://www.dropbox.com/gallery/2644807/1//Narikaa%20Gallery/MENS%20WATCHES?h=a09530&p=3#/ Cheers Tommy
Amit 72 Posted December 21, 2011 It's ok. Reg is a great dealer, own't have any probs from him. 21j is almost a good movement so should be ok on that front too, just a matter of if you like the watch. Which i assume he/she does. Shimples
tommylad 0 Posted December 21, 2011 So, in terms of looks (dial, case etc) is it close to gen? Tommy
Del 4,527 Posted December 21, 2011 So, in terms of looks (dial, case etc) is it close to gen? Tommy I don't know, and probably 99.9999% of people won't either!
tommylad 0 Posted December 21, 2011 Good point Del, I'm sure it will be fine.
tommylad 0 Posted December 21, 2011 Also, just realised that it has a left handed crown. Would that be ok for a right handed person?
Crusader 0 Posted December 21, 2011 Crown is there probably for a reason, since it's so big, it would bother you while wearing the watch. So I guess it's better if its on left hand. I just hope you know this is quite big watch, I think 50mm.
tommylad 0 Posted December 21, 2011 Oh yeah, I do. Don't worry he has a big wrist - and likes U Boats. I don't understand the appeal, but each to his own.
ath 0 Posted December 21, 2011 All uboat models I've seen have the crown on the left side (probably due to the size of the watch and also the size of the crown itself, so no worries about it. There are 45mm and 53mm sized models also but can't tell what model this is.
tommylad 0 Posted December 21, 2011 Thanks for the advice everyone. My friend liked the watch so it's been bought. Like I said, I'm clueless when it comes to U Boats so the help was appreciated.
tommylad 0 Posted December 21, 2011 I can't find a gen model that completely matches this one. Anyone have any ideas? It could just be a fantasy model.
tommylad 0 Posted December 21, 2011 I can't see that picture, but I have found the model: it's a U-925 and the dial looks pretty accurate.
