Member X 91 Posted September 14, 2009 I ordered a cheapy dark blue strap off the 'bay to go on my white face/blue numbers Parnis, and it's turned up and looks decent quality - but it's very shiny indeed... <_< Is there anything I can do to take some of the shine off it but not leave it looking tatty, sorry, 'vintaged' ? lol I'm thinking white spirit or something but I don't want to ruin it completely! It just looks cheap being so shiny!
Member X 91 Posted September 14, 2009 I thought it would look like this: http://i6.ebayimg.com/01/i/02/e8/f9/3d_1.JPG It's almost as bad as this: http://i.ebayimg.com/22/!BRSii5w!m...Y!~~_12.JPG <_<

JohnG 41 Posted September 15, 2009 Is that leather? If it is, you should be able to fix it, but man, it looks like those plastic shoes some military guys wear so they never have to shine their shoes....
AustinTech 0 Posted September 15, 2009 man, that is really friggin' shiney. get that shit taken care of before you wear it or dudes will start hitting on you.

Member X 91 Posted September 16, 2009 LOL Thanks for the tip :P It's not quite that shiny but it's about halfway between the two I posted I should have done pics yesterday really but forgot, d'oh. Will have to try the steel wool thing - I didn't know if something like white spirit or acetone would take some shine off!
