Deployant buckles?

Recommended Posts

So I've picked up a great strap for a bargain price off ebay, but it has no holes...

I know I need a deployant but will this one be ok?

I can't understand how they attach and hold the strap together

In the pic on the link, I assume the buckle spring bar goes between the sticky out bits on the left hand side piece, and then the long part of the strap feeds through the bit on the right, going from right to left, then when you close it it's all held in place somehow??

That deployant is designed for regular old leather straps with holes, so you will need to make at least one hole in your strap (It doesn't need to be beautiful). On the deployant, there is a pin under the big bar on the right, that bar itself is hinged and will pivot up so you can feed the strap through, then snap it down, pushing the pin through the hole. I have about 10 of these deploys and they work well.
