jhiker 0 Posted September 28, 2009 (edited) Hmmmm.. Anyone else having trouble communicating with Getat? Placed an order last night and generated an order number at the time but, thus far, no acknowledgement to my email address or instructions on how to pay. Sent an inquiry via the website and pm'd Getat from here but no response. Are they particularly busy - I heard his communications and service were of the highest order? Maybe I'm just being a little impatient... Edited September 28, 2009 by jhiker
greg_r 81 Posted September 28, 2009 Do bear in mind the difference in time zones and the fact that last night would have been Sunday. I find that Tat generally replies within around 36 hours, but it depends on when you catch him - sometimes he's a lot quicker.
mad dawg 0 Posted September 29, 2009 No problems for me. I asked if Tat can provide the new "superlume" 44mm in PVD case. In less than 12hours I had a reply and the web site was updated. MD
mbjoer 0 Posted September 29, 2009 I received a message from Mary that she is away for holidays. Perhaps it is holiday time for Getat as well?

Luthier 1 Posted September 30, 2009 China is, to all intents, shut down until the 12th of October. Summer holidays!!Very difficult to find anyone to talk to! O/S It's Golden Week Holidays in China, it's twice a year, first on Labor Day (May 1st), another - right now, from October 1st, birth of Communist China. Both holidays - for 1 week. Mary went to her hometown in Hunan province. Will be back next week.
Luthier 1 Posted September 30, 2009 Hope he's not on vacation. Isn't this a 6 or 8 day holiday? Celebrating Communism's birth in China?" The lesbians next door asked me what I would like for my birthday. I was quite surprised when they gave me a Rolex.. It was very nice of them, but I think they misunderstood me when I said, "I wanna watch."" Hehehe.. I prefer to participate.
Getat 0 Posted September 30, 2009 Yes, it is a biggest holiday in China. Furthermore, this year is 60th year birth of Communist China. 60 years is a biggest year in lunar calender. And all watch parts are very difficult to delivery import to China too. Custom check all parcels seriously.
KBH 7 Posted September 30, 2009 And all watch parts are very difficult to delivery import to China too. Custom check all parcels seriously. It's interesting how protective they are of imports. They sure don't give a rat's ass about what get's shipped out of the country. The biggest manufacturer and exporter of fake goods in the world doesn't want any fakes coming in! Luthier 1 Posted October 1, 2009 I'm still wondering which watch components are being imported by china (by Getat) Most of the dials, hands, crystals, crowns, bracelets/straps are made in Hong Kong. Some movements too.
mad dawg 0 Posted October 1, 2009 Hong Kong is part of China. I am still confused.
offshore 0 Posted October 1, 2009 Hong Kong is part of China. I am still confused. The Chinese treat it as 2 seperate countries. Full border control between HK and "mainland" China. Seperate customs depts, police etc etc. May as well be 2 different nations! O/S
JohnG 41 Posted October 4, 2009 Getat is the Homage Master!
Luthier 1 Posted October 4, 2009 HK belongs to China officially, but it's way different - they still have some freedoms. Unfortunately less and less, despite of chinese promise to UK not to change anything there for 50 years... and "Iron Lady" Tatcher believed to commi's promises. How stupid...
