DSSD & Explorer I

Recommended Posts

Steve227

Hi all,

Its been a year since I bought a rep and the itch to try a DSSD got the better of me. I bought this from a TD from one of the other forums (together with an Explorer I 39mm), whole transaction was very smooth. Even the EMS Gods were shining on me as only took a few days.

I have no idea what factory these come from, advertised as noob, but everything seems to be shown as noob these days, who knows.

I wanted a high beat but really couldn't be bothered paying the extra for swiss so this has the asian eta clone. Have to say it sweeps beautifully, don't think I will buy a swiss again - especially as the prices are continuing to rise.

The size of the DSSD is good, I have traditionally bought bigger Breitlings and it doesn't disappoint. Nice and heavy too. Overall quality is excellent - is it perfect? - no but then I didn't pay for perfection.

The Explorer I has been the biggest surprise - a great rep.

Both these watches feel quality, plus they are so shiney it makes it hard to photo!

Talking of photos.................................

39mm Explorer is one of the most versatile watches out there IMHO!

Nice choices. I've been thinking about an Explorer I more and more. What TD did you go with?

Cheers guys. The explorer is a great rep and this one wears ok for a 39mm.

I used Trevor for these, price and free ems eased the deal!

Love both the watches - especially the explorer.

Question for all - is it just me or does anyone else also think that the Strap of DSSD's in general (and not this one in particular) is dispropprtionately narrow when compared to the watch head? Maybe I've got it all wrong and will only get it right once I see a DSSD in person but thought I'd throw it out in the open.

Same as the gen mate. When I tried one on at the ad, the thinness of the bracelet was surprising.

Right... would have bought one way back but somehow can't get over how thin the bracelet is (on rep & on gen)...

I use to own a genuine Explorer 1 back in 2004, had it for about 2 years & then sold it. Your's looks nice for a rep...........I was looking into the DSSD reps since I think 9 grand for a gen is way too much........I think I will pay a little more to try & get a "near perfection rep" if thats possible. Ive seen the ones BK has sold & they look pretty nice.

Nice watches by the way..............
