ST-1902 chronograph repair help

Recommended Posts

This is my Omega speedmaster with Seagull ST-1902 movement:

http://www.rwgboard....showtopic=27221

My first omega speedmaster had an issue with the chronograph. The (long seconds hand from the chrono did not reset back to zero. I received a new movement and here the same issue happend after ~25 times of usage.

I will now try to explain the problem and hope to get advice from other users or watchmakers.

This is the problem:

- Initialy the movement is good and large seconds hand is exactly at 12 postion

- first ~25 resets the hand jumps to 12 postion (note: I never reset the chrono outside the 11 till 1 range)

- After ~26 resets I saw the hand stopping at +1 second

- 27 resets = +1.5 seconds

- 28 resets = +2 seconds

- 29 resets = +2.5 seconds

- 30 resets = +3 seconds

etc.

I was only able to get the hand back to 0 by reseting multiple times with the hand at ~ 45 seconds.

At the moment I do not use the chrono because I know it will be immediately back with an offset problem.

Some users reported same issue. Sometimes it was caused by a loose spring by the reset lever?

Other reported a loose screw under the H bridge. Other reported that it is an adjustment issue inside the movement (not tight enough reset brake?)

Are there instructions how to check all these things?

Thanks in advance.
