what about AP economy watches from Silix ?

Recommended Posts

Luthier

First - it's a "fantasy" watch, mean AP never had such a model.

Second - it's Quartz with ticking seconds hand, big give away.

And third - I even highly doubt it is Quartz, probably, it's modified cheap 21j movement. I've never seen Quartz with Day/Date subdials.

My personal opinion - I'd never buy it.

Silix is OK dealer for cheapies.

Silix is a fine dealer, for cheapies and more higher priced reps, as I have dealt with them on both. Just remember for the economy watches, they are not on par with $300 options.

Don't do it, it screams cheap rep. Save some more and spend it on a better rep or find a better repped model which fits within your budget

What do you guys say about the other cheap Audermars on silix (or other trusted sites)? I'm really looking into a cheaper version of an Audemars but I don't really want a piece of crap in the box when it arrives :(

Stick with movements that are 21J if you want to have one with a more gen-like movement. What Luth is saying is that the quartz movement with tick second by second, whereas a 21J will tick 6 times per second for a smoother second hand sweep. The "fantasy" thing means that there is no gen that really looks like that, so those are two things that would right away give this watch up as a replica. People tend to look for the second hand sweep more than the dial face when it comes to these watches.

I've bought a few watches from Silix and Michelle is awesome. Try to choose an AP with a 21J movement in it and that would be a good and cheap place to start.

There is nothing remotely funny about Jeff, or his LV.

How about you buy a "better" cheapy rep, for example a 21j Sub or Seamaster - first those are more accurate replications, secondly you could maybe own the gen.

Gen = Genuine, non-fake, the real deal :)

That suggestion by Michelle looks pretty nice, and the second hand will sweep :)

I am trying to find a thread by Luthier where he bought an AP rep for about $90 that was really nice...
