AlexTT 0 Posted May 22, 2012 Hi Everyone, Yes, it's true, I hate the term "Noob". It sounds "péjoratif" as we would say in French.... But hey, guess what....I am one. On this forum anyway. But I've always loved clocks and watches. At the age of 18 I studied jewelry design and gold/silver smith studies in Antwerp Belgium. Right next door to our workshop was the watchmakers workshop in the same school. I always wondered if I had made the wrong choise when I enrolled.... Whatever. I've owned quite a few watches over the years, sold a couple, broke some... Now I still owne a gen Tag Heuer Link Searacer, gift from my wife for my 40th b'day, a Festina, a few Swatches of which one of the very first series (all black). Two years ago I bought an OMEGA Seamaster GMT from Andrew at Trusty's. It ran fine in the beginning, untill recently. It would stop every 2 days. I noticed the rotor had come loose....Contacted Andrew, who suggested I send it back for sevicing and repair, but at my own expences since it was out of warranty. I decided to take things in my own hands and set off to my own repairwork. Now it runs just fine again. So I would say Trusty Time looks like a good place to buy. I saw his name mentionned on the Trusted Dealers page, but all the way at the end (not really in the 'trusted' list) I'm out to buy more reps and was thinking of calling on Trusty again. trailboss99 994 Posted May 22, 2012 Welcome mate, nice to have some talent on board, we have a few designers here BTW. Have a look at Toro, Marvellousreplica and watchinternational. These are three that get recommended probably the most. +1, they are your three best bets for ease of service and answering questions so all are a good place to start. mind you all our dealers are great but the learning curve is lowest with those three.
