NFleischer 4,355 Posted June 11, 2012 Do the HW PAM's with sec @9 use the same movement as the base models? My dear 114 broke and I may need a new movement, is there anything special you have to do about the seconds cp? Or can I just order a 6497 from any TD? Thanks in advance. 10:10 Watch Repair 1 Posted June 11, 2012 If it's an A6497, they're all the same. The movements without the seconds have the same wheel with the pinion cut (usually poorly)
NFleischer 4,355 Posted June 11, 2012 Thanks Chris. So If I buy a new movement, the watch smith has to cut the cp?
10:10 Watch Repair 1 Posted June 11, 2012 yes. on the Swiss, the seconds is available without the long pinion, but I don't think it fits the Asian.
Member X 91 Posted June 11, 2012 Is it possible to order a 'No-CP' CP from CousinsUK or Ofrei? They're a pretty easy change, aren't they?

I just did one on a Swiss 6497. The pinions on the Swiss are slightly different than the Asian.
