michmich 0 Posted June 14, 2012 (edited) Hi, I've been reading on this forum for a while and I must say it's great, thanks everyone! I'm looking to buy a genuine Omega and spotted this one on the Bay http://www.benl.ebay...=item231e802482 Almost went for it but after reading up on this forum I'm somewhat scared to take the plunge. Could anyone advise me whether this is genuine or not? Price is low, but the auction just started running. Also, check out the seller. He's sold like a ton of watches before so it seems quite dodgy. His feedback is mixed, and he doesn't accept PP. What to do? Thanks! Edited June 14, 2012 by michmich

jeffw69 0 Posted June 14, 2012 I thought payment on ebay had to be through paypal?
trailboss99 994 Posted June 14, 2012 Quite, don't you have to accept PP as a payment option on eBay? Anyway: 1/ Mixed feedback 2/ doesn't want to accept PP = Run away! Not worth the risk mate.
justinp2121 0 Posted June 14, 2012 I thought payment on ebay had to be through paypal? Yes this is right! It does have to be pp on Ebay, they even warn you not to do it outside of pp because your not protected under buyer protection they have. Jeff is correct

michmich 0 Posted June 14, 2012 (edited) I thought payment on ebay had to be through paypal? no, after an account has aged somewhat you can leave out that PP option (at least in Belgium). Still 99% of sellers accept PP of course. most of the ad is in French cant really read it but looks quite sketchy to me. There is no box or no papers? For the Omega it says, among other things: "new, bought in 2011 for €2739 - new leather watch strap (Omega €389). In it's original box (interior + exterior) + warranty card" -> but as I've read here before (thanks again): warranty cards & packaging are too easy to copy for the Chinese... maybe it's better to ask him for a receipt or at least give away the place where he bought it. michmich 0 Posted June 14, 2012 Alright, asked He has got the boxes, do these replica dealers give boxes as well?
olly593 0 Posted June 14, 2012 Alright, asked He has got the boxes, do these replica dealers give boxes as well? Yes they can do. If your unsure probably best to leave it unless you can meet the seller and watch in person and have it authenticated first.

Jameslowe1 0 Posted June 15, 2012 Ya if he doesn't have authentication papers then don't take the chance. it comes with papers doesn't look too dodgy to me. Send an email with the image of it to rochest at [email protected] and see if he can get it as a rep. If he can't then go for it I say!
