pollux1 3 Posted November 21, 2009 Hi all, does anyone know how to fix the ends of a rep Ingy strap? It has the usual problem of the piece of material near the pins coming loose. I don't know what glue to use so any help is greatly appreciated!
trailboss99 994 Posted November 21, 2009 Can you show a pic? What's the strap made of, rubber, leather, some kind of plastic or sillicone? The best bet would prob be an ACC type adhisive, the stuff commonly refered to as "Supa Glue" Col.
pollux1 3 Posted November 21, 2009 Hi Col, it's a rep carbon/"kevlar" look strap for the Ingy, they all seem to have the same fault whereby the ends were the link bars go into aren't properly sealed.
trailboss99 994 Posted November 21, 2009 So the folded over flap comes loose? A VERY small amount of supa glue would work but you must be carefull not to use enough to soak thru the material or it will show on the outside and create a hard spot on the inside to rub on your wrist. Only a thin line too 'cause the glued bit won't be flexable. A two part epoxy may be easier to use without it wicking thru to either side. Just a thin bead a cpl of mm wide across the end of the flap will do the trick. Good old Gorilla Grip may also work and it's flexable when dry. You will have to bond a larger area tho. Col.
