This watch is amazing. One, bc JLC seems like an unlikely bedfellow for the Navy SEALs. I like to think that the last thing Bin Laden saw was a little superlume from this bad boy. Sure superlume can blow your cover on a covert operation but it's kickass! Of course, this thing was unheard of in May 2011 but so was a stealth helicopter. :)

Before anyone is drawn offsides by my sarcasm, I realize of course they were wearing G-Shocks and the Pentagon wasn't holding closed-door meetings on horology :)

Still like my PO better.

Jeff,

Having read many, many of your reviews, I can tell from your tone that it just isn't your perfect cup of tea, really good but not great. I'm going to demote it from the top of my wish list until they come out with one of the other 2 Navy Seal editions (the two or three crown versions) which will hopefully be a little more distinctive looking. Bummer!

Or the Big Face Rollie I got 2 of those. Sorry, Jay-Z reference was involuntary. Where is the time-out section of the forum?

Nice one Jeff. What's the material on the bezel, it looks textured?

Are we to really believe that this elite fighting force was looking for a $10K analog mechanical timepiece to replace its indestructible multifunction plastic digital watches?

You severely underestimate our military's willingness to throw money away on stupid shit:

But seriously, there is actually some use for non-electronic equipment in US military applications (tritium illumination on Trijicon optics comes to mind).

Greenhat

It’s no secret that watch companies are, by and large, run by marketing departments nowadays. And, certainly, watch companies have capitalized on their selection by mountain climbers, militaries and astronauts for decades. But the difference is, in the past, most of these pieces were purpose-built and then adopted or adapted by the groups that used them. Associated marketing inevitably followed. But the JLC Navy SEALs watches are no more than a pure marketing stunt conceived not by the Navy SEALs but by JLC. Are we to really believe that this elite fighting force was looking for a $10K analog mechanical timepiece to replace its indestructible multifunction plastic digital watches?

to read Greenhat's full article

One would think that this Seal watch would be ideal wear for when one is out clubbing.

Clubbing seals with a JLC navy seal watch.......maybe this is it's true purpose.
