Rolex Classic Explorer II (Eye-candy)

Recommended Posts

madcatlancelot

This is long overdue, I had this watch for more than a month now and today I found some time to take photos. I've been "downsizing" lately, moving from 44mm watches back to smaller 40mm and below watches. As KBH said in one post, "you'll understand soon enough young grasshopper", maybe age is finally catching up on my taste.

I had a 42mm white Explorer II before, didn't like it due to its big size. This one is perfect for my tiny wrist, it wears bigger than it's listed 39mm size though.

Some info about this watch, this is the new superlume rep Explorer II 16570 black dial with incorrect hand stack running Asian ETA clone. I got this from an RWI TD, I'm sure our TD's here can get you the same watch!

I have only two photos for now, hope to add more in future. Enjoy!

Front shot, straight from Silverspeed's photo style.

Thanks solkry!

So, in continuation with downsizing, I have a 36mm datejust incoming. The photo made my heart skip a beat! (over-acting) lol

Got mine back in April of this year. It's an awesome watch!

I would recommend one to everybody.

21j, Functioning GMT hand.

Runs great and keeps very good time.

Very handsome DJ. I totally get where you are coming from in regards to downsizing. with the exception of one very special 44 mm watch I'm trying to keep my pieces to 40 mm or below. It's hard to with so many beautiful 42-44 mm watches around :)

@j.eric: wow yours looks very nice, I like that the dial markers are not overwhelmed by the lume application. The superlume version has some dial markers that has too much lume application.

@solk: I agree, there's just too many choices in the 42-44mm range that's difficult to ignore, I'll be keeping the Seawolf, the PAM024A, and the 42mm PO. The rest would be smaller watches for now..

@BluffCityBandit: thanks mate, I got it from a non-TD here, I'm sure the TDs will be able to get the exact same DJ.

I have the same watch in white and I love it! Ironically I find it small compared to my 16610s but with the right clothes it hits the nail on the head for sure! I modded my CGs and got a gen crown which I have yet to install...

Argh... Gonna have to break down and get a Rollie. This would be an excellent start.
