Massimo 53 Posted December 18, 2009 I've fallen at the first hurdle with my Radiomir Homage project. I can't get the back off this sucker with the tools I have which are 1) one of those rubber balls that I've used to open my Rolex reps and 2) an adjustable thingumy with two pins that has been OK with screw in cases with the recess "keys" for the pins. Neither seem suitable for this, and I'm not sure what I do need. Help please! Thanks
greg_r 81 Posted December 18, 2009 C4? Black & Decker? There are proper case back removers for these things, but they're tough to find - especially in the size used for Radiomirs and 47mm PAMs. Col's your man - if anyone can come up with a case back opener for this, he's the guy. graman 2 Posted December 19, 2009 Yep...big fat ball of gaffa tape will do the job mate. Good luck!
trailboss99 994 Posted December 19, 2009 Gaff should work. If not, you will need one of THESE Blu-tak is NOT a good replacment for Rodico. Blu-tak is sticky and contains oils that can contamiate a MVT, stain dials and lume. A lump of Rodico is under 6 bucks in the shop, about the same price as BT. Col. KBH 7 Posted December 19, 2009 Go over to Rep Geek and check out Lumen's Tutorial. I think he used water pump pliers. It worked and was hysterical.

prestigewatchco 2 Posted December 20, 2009 I've used those as well when I can't find the correct die. Most times I just use rubber ball though or the universal if I can find it
Massimo 53 Posted December 20, 2009 Well, I didn't have any proper gaffa tape, but had a go with what I had, reassured that it should actually unscrew rather than some other bizarre fastening. No good though, my tape was slipping. I decided that one problem I had was keeping hold of the case, which kept slipping round in my hand. In the end I washed the grease off the case back and the ball to get a better contact, then got a cloth to hold the case and flexed my meagre muscles, using more force than I liked on my beloved watch... Got it! Thanks again, guys.
