So you've removed the stem and are now trying to re-fit it?

nope, movement came with no stem, so trying to fit, but the release screw won't tighten.

+1 on Chris, the screw most likely disengaged from the setting lever. You can fix it without even dismounting the movement, you just need to take the dial out.

You don't need to remove anything, just turn the movement and look at the keyless work, you'll see that this little part below is not laying flat:

And you'll see that the tip of the screw that's shupposed to be in is not in anymore, so basically you need to apply a little rpessure to put it flat, and screw the screw in.

That's all.

Wiz and Chris you guys are awesome! I've wondered how the setting lever and screw works now it's crystal clear. Great job mates! Have to bookmark this post.

Quick question... how tightly do you torque down the setting lever screw upon reassembly? Seems like the setting lever pivots on this screw and overtightening would result in the lever not working.

No need to torque, just tighten till you feel resistance, worked for me.

thanx again Wiz and Chris

I've been told it shouldn't be tight, so I screw untill I feel resistance and then I unscrew a little, maybe half a quarter of a turn.
