KBH 7 Posted January 4, 2010 From the other RWG: "Am planning on buying an lv noobmariner as a pressie for my friend. He said he wouldnt be able to keep an automatic movement running so was just wondering how hard is it to convert a dg2813 to a quartz movement. Can all watches be converted? Is it an expensive procedure? Any problems that could occur?" I hate to make fun of noobs but isn't this what we've been trying to get away from for years? trailboss99 997 Posted January 5, 2010 Can't keep an auto running? Unless he's in a wheel chair and a near quad (which is possible I supose) why not? Col.

sconehead 5 Posted January 5, 2010 This gives me an idea, I'm going to go back and look at my noob posts on other boards. I'll find the worst and repost it here, does anyone else dare do the same?

I would, but RWGJr only lets me go back 1,000 posts. I only started posting on RWI last year and I don't post on RG. All my embarrassing early posts were on the old board.... Guess that lets me off then

sconehead 5 Posted January 5, 2010 I can't access my old posts on RWI beyond April 2009, so all my real 'gems' have been lost. My threads started go back further, so here's the worst I could find... Does anyone out there know where I can source a suitable quartz movement for my 2221.80.00 SMP replica? It has an ETA 2836-2 movement in it at the moment and I want to mod the watch to be as close to gen as possible. Also I will probably need new hands to fit the new movement and need to get the new style winder, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance... Well it was a rep of the quartz model from Josh...part of my first rep order and I knew no better when I ordered it, just that it was the latest rep SMP model to be released...no one replied...
