The reason that watch dealers (gen, rep, whatever) use 10:10 is because of two things: 1. tradition - it's always been done that way 2. marketing - the hands frame the manufacturers logo usually just under the 12. means nothing. The rep is so good that it looks like gen !!! Just see the deepness of the engraving on bezel insert then you know it is rep. and another thing, if TD would do this, he would be automatically banned from all our boards. I even heard theory about that the hands are placed in a \ / postion beacouse it resemble to a smile...! LOL Anyway... LondonBB 0 Posted October 13, 2012 I tend to agree with Del, its impossible to really tell from those pics as they have been tidied too much. The pearl does look better but not gen like. The one on the gen is a domed recessed mini crystal whereas this appears flat. Also the OGEV etc engraving on the rehaut doesn't look crisp. Another element that looks to me wrong is that I think the crown guards are too big, either that or the crown is too short - only a bit but noticeable. The only real way to evaluate the watch would be to buy one and see it in the metal as you can't rely on the pics to tell the entire story Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

When I came here, I said I would never get a rep Rolex. I have 2 Subs in transit. I don't really want to talk about how I am feeling bout Kenny's DSSD, as I need to slow down and take a little buying break. I ordered some stuff to make a custom watch box, but it is already full and I have not received (or made) it yet. I had to lie to my wife twice in the last three days. To settle her down when she figures it out, I ordered her a surprise J12. That could make everything okay or it could have something other than the desired effect. Thanks for the post Kenny.
