Winding...

Recommended Posts

Hi guys. I just bought my first ever rep, the Beverley hills edition. When I have the watch on should I be winding towards me or away from me. Also, how often does the watch need this done? Daily/weekly?

Power reserve on a 6497 is generally between 40-60 hours. I wind mine daily (assuming I'm wearing the same watch for more than one day at a time, which is unusual ;) )

Wind away from you

Unless you're left handed. ;)

In which case, still wind away from you unless you're wearing the watch backwards.

James.

Make sure you wind it you face east (unless after 9pm in which case you need to face SSW, obviously) and ensure you wind diagonally so to not engage the reverse hidden chronograph mechanism.

Then you should be right.

I only do it with PAMs as I don't have to sod about unscrewing crowns.

I've never really given this much thought to watch winding before. Can't say I'm particularly enjoying doing so now :)
