Really hope the watch design doesn't change at all!!! I think this watch was perfect from the get go!!!!

 

And what's wrong with dolphins? I guess you could put something more manly like a shark, or swordfish (guess that would be cool considering all the sharp edges!), but I don't see the issue! I mean look at this thing!!! It looks manly and angry!!

 

And I'm gonna throw sword fish out there just because no one has

 

I like the name but Breitling already has a watch by that name and I am sure Luthier was an original.

If we want to toss a couple more fish in the pan...how about Wahoo or Barracuda, one is among the worlds faster and the other among the most ferocious. Both in their natural beauty spectacular.

Most any cool name has been used at least once, Casio had a watch called the Dolphin.

as long as it doesn't say fuckin "Dolphin" on the dial I'm in...who the fuck wants a watch that says Dolphin??? I suppose it could have a "flipper-lock" clasp to go along with it and the rubber strap could smell of sardines and salt water

as far, as I know, the mechanism, that rotate rehaut on AP Diver, is made from cheap plastic, and prone to break easily.

 

Surely you don't mean the V3? The thing is a beast. Metal gears & ball bearings.

Yes The AP Diver V3 has got ball bearings there on the inner bezel with bezel insert ! It is MUCH BETTER CONSTRUCTION then the V2 or V1 ! Fucking amazing if you want it to put this way.

Had this thought already. All depend, what movement will be available. If 2836-2 - then, definitely, Day/Date.

But from the other hand... I never seen Diver with DD.

It's possible. Dive deep enough you get a little loopy with narcosis and may new to be reminded what day it is.

I am one of those people who wear divers daily as I need a watch I can bash around - one of the guiding principles should be that it looks as good scratched as new (think Landrover Defender).As a concession to those who don't go for the "tool" look, may I suggest 2 basic tweaks -

 

1. Lose the fussy bezel - Luth I'm sure you can come up with something unique, even if it has to have Doxa-type tables. NOT a steel bezel, should be ceramic or rubber.

2. DO something unique with the case shape - think Ploprof, Doxa. PAM 150 etc - they're all unique; make the case echo the name (so it will have to have a dolphin's beak as things stand!
