evobatman 0 Posted November 13, 2012 I ordered a Deepsea V7 from one of the TDs, but I am not sure at all if that is what I got. The serial no. on the rehaut is M660304, which some googling seems to reveal to be an old Trevor model. The lume on the dial is green, while the pearl is blue. And also, the bezel insert appears to be made with a very very fine grey grain in it, whereas my submariners ceramic insert is a perfect smooth black. The OGEV/RLS text is slightly askew, it is centered between the ES and CK, and I have never seen that in any picture of any Deepsea rep. Question is, has anyone ever heard of a bezel insert like that? Where can I get an insert that is perfectly black, like the one on my sub? Why is the dial green? Can the OGEV/RLS text be fixed? And what version rep even is this at all?

evobatman 0 Posted November 21, 2012 After a few e-mails back and forth with the dealers QA people, they keep claiming that this is indeed a V7. No point in pushing further with them I guess.
evobatman 0 Posted November 29, 2012 I purchased a random $20 insert from eBay, and it looks endlessly better than the stock one. Lume is correct too. It is a deep deep pure shiny black, and the engravings are brighter, although not as deep.

evobatman 0 Posted November 29, 2012 http://www.ebay.com/itm/190504979117?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 Here it is, looks a lot nicer IRL than in the pic in the auction! Mine has a tiny imperfection in the black just above the triangle, but you cannot see it in the pictures or IRL unless you know what to look for. The pearl is centered perfectly, and it is well made, but I do not believe that it is very close to gen. I am VERY happy with the material in the insert and the bright engravings, although they are very shallow. And yes, I've come to love my DSSD myself after all the hours and sweat I've put into making it acceptable
