A2497 movement question.

Hi everyone,

I have just received my 3rd 6497 powered rep and noticed that on the new batch when you wind the crown it springs back quickly after each turn and there doesn't feel like much resistance until you get towards the end and feel the crown get tight, also noticed it doesn't need as much turns as my previous one.

Where as my first 6497 movement (PAM111N) when you wind it, it slowly builds up resistance and you hear the gear wheel click quite positively after each turn. Completely different to the 2 new ones.

Which batch should I assume are the ones running properly?

It's 6497, not 2497

There are several sources of 6497 movements and they do vary in quality somewhat, although most remain reliable. The one that's used depends on not only the source of the rep, but also what any particular factory has available at any given time. Providing it's working properly I wouldn't worry too much about it.

My 183 winds just like that, no problems with it though.

As long as you can wind it till it stops winding, and it has c.48-59 hours power reserve, I wouldn't worry. :)
